This place is huge!!!!!!

3rd Mar, 2008

First impressions of Whistler are "Wow, how big is this place"

Clive and I skied all day in driving snow, variable visibility and chopped up snow. Just about every run was a mogul run, even the greens!! It was bloody hard work and when we came in at 4 we were knackered. We went up the Wizard Express from our unit in Blackcomb and skied straight over to Whistler. We searched around on Whistler Mountain for the morning, riding about 4 or 5 different lifts and skiing a run or 2 off each. We skied to the bottom of Whistler and caught the Blackcomb Gondola to Blackcomb Mountain where we had lunch near the top of the mountain at Glacier Creek Lodge. We skied the afternoon at Blackcomb exploring as much as we could considering the conditions.

The snow has stopped now and the next 3 days are forecast to be clear and sunny. Hopefully after some grooming and a bit of packing down, the runs will remain OK.

I didn't take the camera out on the mountain, it has been playing up a bit probably due to the cold, but with the snowy, cold and foggy conditions photo opportunities would have been minimal. I'll take it out tomorrow for shots on the hill.

Here are some pics of the view from our unit window....

Happy Birthday for last week Peter!!! The Birthday videos are only for kids, or those who act like kids, so you'll have to settle for a drink when we get home.

Kiters, thx for the Whistler wishes and glad to see you're enjoying the blog.

Casey, who won the athletics carnival??

Karmen, look after that cold.

Brenda, mini Mars Bars are your friend in this day and age.

Hi Guys

The pics looks good but they look black and white. Is that how you took them or is that how it looks?

Glad to see you are getting out to ski even in crappy conditions..it seems you are certainly getting your workout over there... hopefully it will clear for the girls to get out and ski too. Looking forward to the shots from the mountain.

Bye Sue

I must say you dont seem as enthusiastic as you were for Big White!

The view is still pretty, hopefully you get some blue skies for some nice photo ops.

Hi All

Love love love the snow covered buildings. Wonderful pics. How are your Photobucket uploads going???

The excitement level at Whistler seems to be a little bit less than Big White. Is this because you are getting tired?

Yeah!!! Fraser (Casey's Team) won the swimming carnival. I am taking all the credit for the wonderful paint job on the arms!!!!

News from home: RBA raised interest rates 0.25%... Sam Newman (AFL Footy Show) has prostate cancer... Australia LOSE to one day cricket series to India!!!!

Bob & Mum, please check your emails for some "non-broadcastable" messages.

Love to all
